Its Christmas time again. Another year has flown by. We have been working on lights for a while now
at my house. This is the thid year of our show. We will have about the same amount of lights as last year. We are changing the look up this year. We will do a dedication to the soldiers, with a santa head telling the story. We have also built a Merry go round. we will have penguin play land again this year.
I want to give you a little history and what we are trying to accomplish. Our family has always been
active in community events at Christmas time. I started the lights for my grandson. Everyone seemed
to like them so I thought we may be able to help less fortunate families by using the lights to draw people out to collect food and toys for needy families. We were vey succesful last year thanks to many that donated though out the drive. The food and toys went to local families. We collected 379 toys and over 700 pounds of food. I am working on adding more homes and parks in the area that decorate during the holidays. This will make a nice evening out with the family where you can visit numerous houses and parks and drop some canned goods or a toy.
Lights of hope will be in its second year. We will be supporting the Trenton Nazarene Church again this year. They will hand out all donations based on the needs of the community. They will make all decisions on what is best and where it will help the most families.
We look forward to helping others have as great of a Christmas as we plan to have.
